 Why do we have Fundraisers?

There are many costs associated with band - uniforms, equipment (purchase and repair), instrument maintenance, travel expenses. The list goes on and on.  Band fees would have to be increased significantly to cover all these expenses.  Our goal is to have practical fundraisers which feature products that you would likely use or consume anyway.  Products such as funnel cakes, Papa Johns pizza coupons and Kroger cards make a big difference in the budget each year.  *Show your band spirit by participating in all the fundraisers and help keep our band program the BEST there is!

 2011 New York Trip

 The Nelson County High School Band of Pride is proud to announce that they have accepted an invitation to perform in the 2011 New York City Veteran’s Day Parade and be a part of the mass band performance in Times Square to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the attack on the World Trade Center.  The Band of Pride is the only band representing the Commonwealth of Kentucky in this international venue.  The band will join 21 other bands from across the nation; along with a band from the Netherlands, as together they celebrate our nation’s freedom through music.  The students involved are currently working on raising $70,000-$80,000 to fund this trip.  If you are interested in making a donation of any amount or becoming a personal or corporate sponsor please contact Marc Monroe at 349-7010, ext. 2654 or email at marc.monroe@nelson.kyschools.us.  For more information about the trip or the Band of Pride please visit our website at www.nchsbandofpride.com.  This is a once in a lifetime for all the students involved, please consider being a part of this patriotic event as our students represent our community, our commonwealth and our nation.

Kroger Cards - These are rechargable Kroger Cards.  They are given out with a $5.00 beginning balance on the card.  Each time these cards are used/refilled/used again a percentage of the amount spent gets sent back to the Band Boosters.
